View Full Version : What's the code on your Rover Injectors?

I'm curious to know which Rover engines used what injectors.
If you could take a minute to look at your inlet and note down the code identified in the area on the picture below (and post the code here  ), that'd be champion! :D

Hi dave, the code in my 1.6 injectors ('98 R416) is - 0280150749.

I also have a 1.4 of unknown origin (damp liner), and that has the same injectors.

dave, il go try get the code off mines in a bit, can you find out the flowrate from these numbers? assumign fuel pressure is known??

the req_fuel variable in my megaswuirt is currently calculated with a "guess" from me as to what the injectors flow. would be nice to have teh real number.

@ Dave: The injector pictured is used in a vast number of MG Rover vehicles, mainliy for engines with a power output of above 100 hp. Displacement range is from 1400 up to 1800. The Bosch number for this part is 0280 155 884.
The other injector´s code is a Bosch partnumber as well: 0280 150 749 relates to the Rover part MJY 100430. It is for similar applications.

Couldn´t find out anything about flow rates, though.

Cheers,
Martin

Well, the MJY 100460 is claimed by many to be 440cc/min, but a bod recently had a set cleaned and flow tested - and found them to be 480cc/min.
HUGE injectors for small engines IMO.

I'm after a set of MJY 100460 if anyone has any / finds any in a scrapyard / scrap motor...

Paypal waiting!

KSM - the link here: http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.php?p=vt&tid=6400

Says that the 0-280-150-749 bosch unit is only 218cc/min.
Doesn't give a value for the othet one you mentioned.

Are you sure your information is correct?

0280 150 749 relates to the Rover part MJY 100430

confused??! so do the injectors i have pictured flow ~200 cc/min or ~400cc#min? acording to the link it would be the former :?

I'm confused too...

All i know is the MJY 100460 have been independantly flow tested and came out at 480cc.

Confusion reighns once again!!!!

The Link HERE (http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache:2htSjVPAoXgJ:home.online.no/~niande/diverse/annet/Boschdyser.xls+0280155734&hl=en) suggests that the 0280 150 749 is a Volvo application and flows only 170cc/min
It does suggest that the 0280 155 884 is a Rover application and has a mere 137.0 cc/min.

This Rover EPC link shows what injectors were fitted to what.

I've had it confirmed elsewhere that the MJY 100460 is only fitted to The MPi mini, and Later (1992-on) Rover 2litre turbo motors.

The confusion could be from the term MJY100640 being confused with the injector in the first picture... :?

What are the chances Rover fitted some pukka kit (these injectors) to their cars, if any at all  Especailly the MPi Mini

Sorry, I've just been following this topic (and read through the various links) and probably more confused than the rest of you put together :(

These injectors are appearing to be a hidden gem... Massive 480cc, high impedance units - but suficiently high resolution to pass emissions on a relativly modern vehicle...

The MPi mini needs huge injectors btw, because it only has a tiny injection window to get all the fuel in (a reaon why even with these massive injectors, they never make more than 85hp).
But that's not a story for a 16v mini site, where everyone has had the sense to ditch 5 ports and 3 bearing cranks!!!

Coming from the man who has achieved probably 150hp+ from his 5 port, 3 bearing crank turbo charged rocket! Obvisouly it took a wee while longer till you found the "sense" (okay I'm being a fat cheeky git...) I'm still trying to find the budget!

Well keep us all posted if you find anymore details Dave!

On an off note, aren't these the injectors that that Charlie guy from Practical Performance Cars mag is fitting to his Meteor (tank version of the Merlin aero engine) powered Rover SD1? Hmm or was it from a non blown (actually would be many) 820? Any PPC readers remember (my collection resides at my mum's...)?
