Some kind soul has just given me a vtec from a written off CRX, he just wanted it out of his garage!

So all systems go now!

I'll send in some photos as soon as i get started, I'm hoping to have it ready for the IMM in august!

got a 72 gt shell, it will be Aqua blue, standard interior, 6x12" rosepetals and group 2 arches. (i'm an old git and I like stuff to look classic!) I've restored loads of old coopers and stuff, so I'll be making my own subframe.

Wish me luck!

Good luck - does this mean that because you are making your own frame - we will see a VTEC with group 2 arches over the wheels?

That would be sweet - what suspension are you going to use?

Not a bad way to start the year - with your own frame too you may well end up with the cheapest vtec mini here !! but am I jealous, hell YES !!!

I'm gonna try to keep it as standard Mini as poss.

Though I may try replacing the rubber cones with the coil spring conversion that is available. I'm also gonna use pre84 metro bottom arms with an anti roll bar rather than tie bars. And I'll be using 'decent brakes' (more about that when I get them working!)

The hope is it'll look like the old 'special tuning' rally car when its finished!

Retro VTEC!!!

Right! I've started so I guess I'll have to finish!

I've removed the front of my clubman, got the subframe out and started to attack the subframe. I can't post any pics cos I've not got a digital camera!
