Hello all,

Well I weighed up the K vrs Vtec argument, and the K has won me over on the BHP/£.

I'm looking to move really quickly, as I want the car ready for next summer. So I have already bought a lovely 1970 clubman and a metro GTi on ebay.

What do you think?

First job is to strip down the clubman and get the shell ready for investigation. The shell is mint considering it is older than I am.

I'll open a diary on my own website for others to follow/laugh at.

I'm going to try to use the Metro subframe and the whole loom etc...

I hear that you can get some of the plates needed from Watsons? Yes?

I would say try the Metro frame route.

Once you have the car up and running you can then, swap to bigger K series engines or if you feel the urge. Modding the frame for a Vtec would be fairly straight forward then too.

I am lucky in that Mikeb is an old mate of mine and he has a great knowledge of all things mini16v. Although he does laugh out loud when I say I'll MOT it in the spring!

I said I'd have mine ready for the summer,

That was two years ago last week :shock:

I really ought to get some work done, its the little finishing bits that take the time. still, good luck! :D
