wiring for 5as

Does anyone have a wiring diagram which shows the 5AS alarm unit (rover 100, the alarm box has one multiplug connector, 18 wires)
I have the ecu, alarm and fob, but i have not got the main loom as the alarm and engine loom were cut from it.

I have attempted to wire it in :D and the engine starts but stops immediatly, it will then spin but not start, it will do this again if i disconnect the battery is this the immobiliser?

Help me get on the road or i'll be driving a micra :shock: :cry:

The ECU and alarm are from the same car I presume, because they need to be a matched pair and wont work otherwise.

If they are, it seems to me that the ECU is not getting the signal in needs from the alarm, there should be a white and orange wire going from pin 9 on the alarm, to pin 13 on the ECU. without this wire, you will get the symptoms you describe.

pin 1 (white) is ignition live, pin 26 (blue/purple) is permanent live, and pin 2 (black)is earth. pin23(black/red) earths the starter relay, but it sounds like you have got that bit working, or the engine wouldn't turn over, pin 7 (purple/orange) connects to the drivers door pin switch, just splice that in to the interior light circuit.
The rest are mainly concerned with central locking and it should be OK to leave them.

If you get a copy of the rover RAVE cd, it will have all the wiring info, you can get them on ebay for a few quid, and its well worth it.

i'll need to dig out my notes, but you only need to wire the live and earth feeds t oteh 5as and the signal wire that goes to the ecu, the ohter wires are redundant in our application. basically as said above.

Thanks for the info, i managed to get hold of a pin-out for the alarm, a little bit of wiring and it runs :shock: :D :D

Hopefully on the road before the end of the month :lol:
