Are the valves opening and closing as the engine turns? Had a timing belt snap on me before which would obviously cause that problem. Also, is your fuel pump working?

yes cam belt is ok and fuel pump is priming when key is turnd,in fact the car is now running again i think it is posesed by a demon.i took out the
plugs and gave them a good clean again left them out and put the battery on charge for 4 hours put the plugs back in reconected the battery and
 the car startted first time as usual.i just hope it will do the same tomorow to get it retested.

Cool, glad it's OK now. Maybe it was a flooded engine - taking the plugs out for a while would fix that. I remember a similar thing happening with my mum's car several years ago.

What fuel pump are u using? i used the mini mpi pump in mine to start with and that would cut out on random occasions (slip-roads, roundabouts etc.)
Because this pump was not up to pressure the ecu didn't like it and behaved strangely, and sometimes caused starting problems.
The pump needs to be 3bar or greater as the fuel rail is regulated at this.

Course if u've used the metro gti pump then this is no use at all.

I know we're moving off topic a bit here, but the mini MPI pump is supposedly capable of providing 3 bar - it's the SPI pump that isn't up to standard.

Have a look at this post:

I looked in the technical data book of the garage where i worked and it didn't distinguish between the two.
However as with anything mini related there is a lot of conflicting information, either way it was not up to the job as a 5bar mazda 626 pump sorted the problem.
