does anyone know if i can just change the discs and calipers from my solid discs to the vented set up ,or if the whole lot needs changing ie; the stub axle ect, and if this lot is even compatible for the steering geometry ect.thanks for any advice.

if your using the metro items then its an easy upgrade
disks, an caliper with carrier, all swop over with afew bolts.
wont change steering etc, but might not fit under some wheels

if your talking about the old a series metro then all you need is to split the caliper into two and insert a spacer ,i did this when fitting vented disks to my old car .all rover did was to take the standard brakes and insert a spacer in the center of the caliper so that it was wider to acommedate the vented disk
I changed the solid discs on my Rover Metro front setup from solid to vented, just needed calipers and discs.
I think the vented came on MPI GTI Metro and also MGF uses the same ones.
Hopefully some of the rovers boys can confirm this.

Duck is right, just need the calliper, disc and carrier. clearance may be a problem though. The Mpi metros were the only ones with vented discs, and so rover had to make weels just for the Mpi gti. The Spi wheels would not fit over the vented setup.
