View Full Version : Vtec Cabrio is it done before?
Hi All,
I started a new project: Vtec Cabrio.. (next to my CRXmini) I use Honda CRX floor parts, subframe and front suspension...
It actually fits all.. ( until now). I will use a rearsuspension, engine, wiring loom and steering column of my Civic VTI (EE9 / Si)
http://www.markoos.net I've made some pictures already

Never seen an engine crane used like that before (avatar!!!).
Wouldn't try doing that with a cabrio, unless you put a lot of strengthening in...

off topic : how about this then VTEC :

Well, its probably less likely to bend that way, but i wouldn't trust that chain enough to get underneath there...

but seriously there is a wooden stand behind my dad , you can just see it

No, i saw that, but if that car dropped i don't think it would even notice that old wooden A frame..... LOL

to late now :) .. funny story no 1 ) about my dad , he was restoring a E-type jag once and had it lifted up on its side like the mini , but the rest that was holding it up fell down , which left him holding this car on two wheels .....
he had to wait a few hours intill my mum came out to see what he was upto ! lol

Marko, quick note on your cabrio that your small pictures don't explode into big size, just the little red x. I'll take a closer look when I get home to see what you are up to now. I take it you are putting the Mini shell on top of the CRX using the complete floor. Wish I had the welding expertise. JS

Marko, I am home now and you just have too much time on your hands. That is what I thought about at one time sort of! I wanted to use the Integra firewall and frame rails and weld into the Mini. Just would have had to trim off the excess outside of the Integra. Looked too complicated for me.
As for your pictures, some of the early ones explode but most of them are only the little red x. Must have some HTML code missing somewhere. JS

Ok, i fixed the pictures on the page
Strudel, it was your "Acura firewall pictures" that give me the idea of trying this. It seems to fit very well. It will be a Civic cabrio in mini looks :D

Way to go Marko. I wondered if that was the inspiration, I was too chicken to try it. I'll keep a watch on the progress.
By the way how is the other project going? I haven't seen any updates on the final product and comments as to how everything works. JS
