i dont know if anyone has done this yet. you should measure the engine and both subframes, mini and golf(the vr6 is a golf engine isnt it?) and then make your own subframe with a combination of the two. keep the turrets that bolt onto the mini body and then weld on the engine mounts off the golf subframe.

VR6 is bigger than 1.8t and the 1.8t wont fit easily.

Also need to get a smaller gearbox as the VR box is huge, mind you DSG could be done.

what OBD vr6 motor is it? is it the 2.8 or 2.9 from the corrado? I had a complete conversion package a couple months back that i was planning on puttin in my jetta.

There's no avoiding the fact its a BIG motor and a big gearbox. it'd be more suited to the rear

Its the 2.8L, I see wot your all saying! I'll will have a chat with him as he didnt want to go the rot of rear engine! But I think you all could be right regarding the gearbox! I think loads of measuring is in order...

does he have the engine yet?

its a shame you didn't know about this a couple months back as i could've taken a lot of measurement off mine :( one of my mates may have one out of a car though.

wow, if you get the vr6 to fit, it will be pretty heavy. It's cast iron.. I had a 196 hp golf, but I'll take a smaller lighter engine any day over that heavy lump in a mini.

Of course.. if you want to be different....

also 196hp? from a 2.8? Turbo k's or vtec's or vauxhall's do same in 2.0 or less
