thanks,
heres some pictures of it.
in april i saw this and bought it straight away. i rented a van and drove from Belfast to Brighton (1000 round trip) in 2 days. i left friday morning and got to the guys house at 12 midnight friday night.

it came with a lot of stuff, rear super fins, spare fibre glass front, carbon fibre twin cam front, fibre glass boot lid&bonnet, a carbon fibre boot lid and more.
the shell has been custom made with very wide arches.

we rented a van to collect it, the maguire is 1.7m wide so we got a van that was 1.9 and we thought it would sit on the vans wheel arches. the doors to the van are smaller than the maguire so we decided to tilt it to get it in then rest it on the vans arches but it just didnt want to fit, so we had to do this;

I remeber this one from e-bay a while back (I even bid on it  ). I love the spaceframe Minis (& Imps) they're awsome!

It's going to be a monster machine once you've got it all hanging together, where are you racing it?

Ohh & welcome aboard, I think this is the first Clio engined Mini on here. You'll need a section all to yourself. :D

Is that a Cobra I see in the garage next to the mini?

Love this project, the 182 engines are damn good in a 182 but in a mini it will be imense :D

dad said to me the other night "what you going to do if you put your 180 on the road and write it off in this crap weather" i just said "cry alot and then stick the engine in the mini "

whats your main goal for the project? im assuming its going to be your weekend track toy but you could surprise me and tell me you like a wild daily driver

thats awesome.

not many (if any?) space frame mini's on here, and thie is definately the first 182 engined! good luck!

You'll be able to put the info under your name when you get accepted as a club member, which may be pretty soon as its clear that you've got intentions to biuld a hybrid mini 8)

Damn you! I saw this on ebay and wanted it sooo bad

Do you mind divulging how much you paid? The figure £1,250 rings a bell but I can't remember why :?: I think I'm getting old and senile...

theminiguy

the plans have changed and then changed back.
ill get back to that^ in a second.
i needed space to work on other things, so the maguire went up and my dads bike engined spaceframe went under
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v237/ping_ping1/DSCN3861.jpg
its coming down on Tuesday and ill start building. back to the plan, the first plan was to put the clio engine into the spaceframe but after thinking about it i decided to put the engine back into a clio. i was doing this because i needed to buy suspension and other things for the maguire and i didnt have the money but i did have all the parts sitting around to build a clio 182 sport. i had started to build the 182 parts onto a clio shell when i had an idea.......... at the start i was going to have to build a frame to support the engine etc and i needed to buy suspension, not good when i have little time (restoring an old house) and no money. anyway the idea, im now going to cut the front off the clio and weld it onto the front of the maguire, by doing this i wont have to build a frame to support the engine or buy new suspension. when i say the front i mean the chasis legs and inner wings etc, i have a fibre glass mini front (in pics above) and it fits over the clio turrets and inner wings. so now all i have to do is cut the front off this clio, weld it to the maguire and then put the engine and rest in which will be easy as all the bracks and mounts are alreay there. it will be just like putting a clio engine in a clio :D
