Hi all i was doing some wielding on the car the other day i went to start the car today and some strange things are happening the car wont start. When i crank the car over it only turns a few times then stops
then trurns a few times and stops and so on,if i disconect the MEMS the car will keep turning overthere also seems to be a drop in voltage when i arm the imobliser and open a door the horn tries to sound but there only seems to be 6 volts going to it.I usualy take the live off the battery before i start to wield but i was trying to do so many job that day i may have left it on have i fried the MEMS or is there some thing i am over looking?
Thanks in advance alex

I think its definitely a possiblity you've fried something (I guess we are talking MIG here?) if you did nothing other than weld.

You should disconnect the battery and the alternator, and I usually disconnect Mems too to be on the safe side.

turn the igniton switch turn it of and reconect the altanator and the MEMS

i did some more work on the car to day and found what had been stopping it from starting.as i siad i had been doing other work on the car as well as welding one being tidying up the dash,i had fitted new mounts to secure it which had puled the fuse box to close to the bulkhead and a plug had come slack which was making and brakeing a feed, just another teething problem i am glad i happend now insted of in the middle of no where
