fiat punto GT engine!

what do you think about put an fiat punto gt engine into a mini??
do i need a new subframe?? he fits into a fiat cinquecento without another subframe...

yes you will need another subframe or modify yours to take this engine the reason it fits in a fiat without another subframe is obviously the mounts are in the same place

i think you really need to have a good read on the forum go through the build diarys (like this one http://www.16vminiclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9292 )in each of the sections when i first looked at doing a conversion i spent weeks and weeks just searching through every one of the build diarys saving pictures for reference before deciding on which conversion to do

the best way to find out what is needed to be done is to read as almost everyone on here has had a problem that they have needed to overcome and has ideas to help you if you come accross similar problems

Thats not quite as true as you say though its it?

theres only two in the country and one was built by a major tuning company to the tune of 7k+, For a start cinqs/seis dont have subframes, it requires the inner wings to be cut out and remade and its a monoque with integral chassis so alot harder than a mini, all the mounts are different and in different places and numerous other stuff :shock: thats why people have the hi boost 1.1's as it is by far easier and quite possibly cheaper if doing yourself

on the mini front it will be as hard as any other conversion except for the fact of a turbo sitting on the back/front as well so more space needed

the Punto GT engine is the same as the Uno turbo engine so have a look in the Uno thread on here for ideas but it is NOT one of the company catered conversions so it is not goign to be bolt in
