Wiring

When i purchased my 16v mini it came with a chopped up wiring loom. And the previos owner said i just need to plug it in and the moter should start. Only prob is as i never took it apart so am unsure on two things.

1. Is the negative to the battery just a lead to the body? as it never came with a lead.

2. Where does the wiring from the fuel pump run to? ECU or Fuse box as theres no wires for the fuel pump on the loom. and what colours are the wires?

get a haynes for whatever car the loom came out of or try get a hold of the rover "rave" cd (few on e-bay) worth their weight in gold.

IIRC the fuel pump is wired to the relay box that sits behind the ECU (3-plug black thing) via the inertia switch :) wire colors vary form cer to car so you really need the appropriate diagram.
