ok guys ive done about 1000km's since the car was rego'd, and only today when i looked, (its a 4pk belt) and the inside rib is gone  and its all chewd up looking, now its not rubbing up agaisnt anything. i had a good look and the alternator is on a little bit of an angle but not that much.. would this be causing it to chew out?

might have to get another belt tomorow and put it on before the aussi mini muster

i found out what the problem was today. well i didnt have an adjuster on the belt for a week or so around 2 months ago, and starting it up a little bit loose chewd it out, i put a new one on today, ill see how that goes..

thanks again

Ben, had a quick look at your installation the other weekend at the Muster. I wanted to spend some time with you going over it but time passed too quickly.

I did notice your alt was a little out of whack and thought you would have problems with it. The timing belt cover was concaved due to the missalignment. Its just a matter of messing about with it until its all straight and true, but you will need a better tensioner mechanism.

hahaha yeah the tensioner mechanism was only a part time sorta thing, being theres no outer bracket for the outa lug on the alt, it is destined to be on an angle..

its the first thing on the list to do.
