I have the watsons frame/metrohub setup with metro calipers. Should I just get the metro cylinders and brake setup as well or is there a better route?

So you have everything from the metro GTI nothing else?
That Type R Blue Sportspack that has been in Minimag and CCC is running some kind of 4 pot caliper conversion with grooved discs. I think Watsons fitted them.
Alternatively you could always speak to Motobuild who do Kseries Metro tuning as to what they can offer as a brake upgrade.
To be honest unless you are a total nutter the GTi vented setup should be fine. Perhaps look at grooved discs and uprated road pads. Again I'm sure Motobuild can help out there.

The largest disks that can be fitted under K series Metro wheels are the vented type as fitted to the Mpi GTi (and as used on the MGF,not TF) they really need to use MPi wheels too as clearance can be an issue with other K series alloys.
The Motobuild (and Roverdose) bigger brake kits require the use of 15" alloys I believe.
Talking to a chap at Combe, he reckons his solid GTi disks are well up to stopping his Vtec Mini.

I went well over the top and got 283 mm disc with Wilwood 4 pot calipers
Very upto the job except they squeel at low speeds. Also using rear discs from a renault 5 GT Turbo http://www.btinternet.com/~paulsparkes/DCP01365.JPG
