just doing some research into engine conversions, and was a little confussed about the subframe setups (yes i have read the FAO's) I am wanting to retain the standard length round nose, i was hoping to fit the 1.6 k series lump as this seems the best option over all, although a 1.4 maybe easier to get a hold of for cheapness..... anyways back to the subframe, to do this i have to modify my mini subframe and if i understand correctly this is done by keeping the towers and the rear section and the cutting the frame just before the tower and then doing the same on the 1.6 lump subframe (this is where it gets hazy for me, this subframe needs to be one out of a K series metro?) and this can then be grafted onto the mini towers??? all i would need to replace that way was the driveshafts (retaining the mini suspension setup and wheels)
please correct me if i'm wrong, which i probably am as this is nothing new for me.
body bods require the removal of the inner wings thus having to make brackets to house the radiator yourself, when using the 16v engine can you also fit the standard bonnet system or do you need to have it done with pins?
ermmmm i think thats all for now, am sure i have forgotten something but have so many things running through my head at the moment, mainly the need for speed!!!!!
